fa ارتباط یافته‌های دانسیتومتری استخوان زنان با شاخص چانه‌ای استخوان مندیبل در رادیوگرافی پانورامیک Relationship between bone densitometric findings and Mental Index of the mandible observed in panoramic radiography in women عمومى General تحقيقي Original Articles زمینه و هدف : دانسیتومتری استخوان روشی مناسب برای بررسی وضعیت اسکلتال بیماران می‌باشد. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی ارتباط وضعیت اسکلتال ناحیه گردن فمور و مهره‌های L2-L4 با شاخص چانه‌ای (Mental Index) استخوان مندیبل در رادیوگرافی پانورامیک زنان مراجعه کننده به بخش رادیولوژی دانشکده دندانپزشکی مشهد انجام شد.   روش بررسی: در این مطالعه توصیفی، رادیوگرافی‌های پانورامیک 67 نفر از خانم‌های مراجعه کننده به بخش رادیولوژی دانشکده دندانپزشکی مشهد در سال 1383 با سن بیش از 35 سال که سالم و فاقد تاریخچه مصرف داروهای موثر بر متابولیسم استخوان بودند، بررسی شد و در آنها شاخص چانه‌ای تعیین و ثبت گردید. از همه بیماران مورد مطالعه دانسیتومتری استخوان در مرکز توس به وسیله دستگاه Osteocore و روش DEXA در دو کانون گردن فمور چپ و ناحیه  L2-L4(مهره‌های دوم تا چهارم کمری) به عمل آمد. بیماران با توجه به معیار T-score به سه گروه طبیعی، استئوپنیک و استئوپوروتیک در هر کانون تقسیم شدند. داده‌های به دست آمده با استفاده از آزمون‌های ANOVA و ضریب همبستگی پیرسن تجزیه و تحلیل آماری شد.   یافته‌ها : میانگین شاخص چانه‌ای بین گروه‌های طبیعی و استئوپنیک در ناحیه گردن فمور زنان مورد مطالعه اختلاف معنی‌داری را نشان داد (05/0P<). میانگین شاخص چانه‌ای بین گروه‌های طبیعی و استئوپوروتیک و استئوپنیک و استئوپوروتیک در ناحیه  L2-L4زنان مورد مطالعه اختلاف معنی‌داری را نشان داد (05/0P<). شاخص چانه‌ای با T-score در ناحیه گردن فمور و ناحیه L2-L4 همبستگی معنی‌داری داشت (به ترتیب 33/0r= ، 32/0=r و 05/0P<).   نتیجه‌گیری: این مطالعه نشان داد که می‌توان از شاخص چانه‌ای استخوان مندیبل به عنوان ابزار مفیدی در تخمین وضعیت اسکلتال بیماران استفاده نمود. ولی به‌کارگیری این شاخص به تنهایی برای بررسی دقیق وضعیت اسکلتال بیماران کافی نمی‌باشد. Background & Objective: Bone densitometry is an appropriate method for the evaluation of the patients’ skeletal status. This study was done to determine, the relationship between MI (Mental Index) of mandibular bone in panoramic radiography and skeletal status in femoral neck and lumbar vertebrae (L2-L4) in women referring to the radiology department. Materials & Methods: In this cross sectional descriptive study, the panoramic radiographs of 67 healthy women over 35 years old referring to radiology department <place><city>Mashhad</city>, <country-region>Iran</country-region></place> during 2004, were assessed and their MIs recorded. All of the patients were then referred to <place><placename>Toos</placename> <placename>Bone</placename> <placename>Densitometry</placename> <placetype>Center</placetype></place>, for bone densitometry in left femoral neck and lumbar vertebrae (L2-L4), using DEXA technique with Osteocore apparatus. The patients were divided into three categories of normal, osteopenic and osteoporotic in each skeletal region according to their T-score. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The mean of Mental Index between normal and osteopenic subgroups of skeletal status in femoral neck showed a significant difference (P=0.042). The mean of Mental Index between normal and osteoporotic and osteopenic and osteoporotic subgroups of skeletal status in lumbar spine region showed a significant differences (P=0.02 & 0.05, respectively). The Mental Index was significantly related to T-scores in femoral neck and L2-L4 regions (r = 0.33 & 0.32, respectively, P<0.01).
